My anticipation was heightened by my previous Paris experience.
Possibly my guide Raphael was helped along by divine intervention as the pope was visiting.
This led to a number of road blocks but instead of it being a hindrance it had Raphael several times having to make adjustments!
This resulted in us several times veering off down lesser streets taking in more community sights as well as the better known landmarks.
Another factor - Raphael being French born now making Madrid his home has the ability to look at one of Europe’s great cities both as a resident and also from an outside perspective.
The bike & sidecar lend itself to the experience!
This all achieved with Txango’s professionalism from when I first contacted them inquiring about the Madrid tour to Raphael turning up on time and me slipping into the bucket.
This extended to his handling of the bike while keeping me informed!
In several weeks time it will be Paris!
